Description:

The D&F Tower is one of 16th Street’s most distinctive buildings. Listed on both the National & Colorado Registries of Historic Places. Built in 1910 as part of the Daniels & Fisher department store, it was the tallest building between the Mississippi River and California at the time of completion, at a height of 325 feet. Designed by Frederick Sterner (1862-1931). The 20-floor clock tower has clock faces on all four sides. When the store was demolished the tower was saved and renovated into office space in 1980. A 2½ ton bell occupies the top two floors of the building, above the observation deck.
